Does anything leave my computer?
No. Every scan and every piece of analysis runs on the machine itself. Snitch does not upload files, does not send results anywhere, and does not need an account or an internet connection to scan.
How does Snitch decide something is suspicious?
Images and video go through an AI detection engine that recognises what is actually in the picture, then scores it by how exposed the content is — in three bands: Explicit, Erotic and Possible. Documents and browser history are matched against keyword categories. Every result shows you which of these fired, so you can judge it yourself.
Will it flag innocent photos?
Some, yes — any detector does. That is exactly why nothing is deleted automatically. Results are sorted with the most serious at the top, each one shows why it was flagged, and you mark what is safe. A beach photo will typically land in the lowest band rather than at the top of your list.

If a scan seems to skip files, check the file types
A scan only looks at the categories ticked on the scan setup screen. Untick nothing you want covered, and the estimate above the tree will tell you how many files that adds.
